Boone specialises in advisory services related to business conduct and compliance under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (MSA). He has been proactive in pursuing pro-bono collaborations with legal tech providers, community legal centres, and law school clinics in an effort to advance innovative solutions and extend access to justice for vulnerable communities, with a particular focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities.
Boone’s individual and division’s core competencies in social sustainability and finance include, but are not limited to: MSA compliance, including initial supply chain assessment, revision of applicable policies and procedures, internal education, drafting of modern slavery statements, and presentation to the board of directors; engagement in pro-bono matters to inform, educate, and support advocacy and legislative reform work; and advisory services for debt restructuring, liability management, and transactional negotiations of numerous bank financings.
With an established career and wealth of knowledge, Boone has been internationally recognised and awarded, while maintaining an active role in various forums, panels, and boards. Some of his notable awards and recognition include being a finalist for the 2015 Australasian Law Awards, being a finalist for the “Debt Deal of the Year,” and being a finalist for the 2015 IFLR Asia Awards’ “High Yield Deal of the Year.”
