Michael is a Partner at Madison Marcus who heads up our Employment and Workplace Relations Division. Since his admission as a solicitor nearly 20 years ago, Michael has practised in NSW, the ACT, and the United Kingdom.
Michael has significant experience in civil litigation advising clients in complex, contentious and non-contentious matters of broad areas of the law. His employment and workplace relations expertise includes representing and advising clients in matters regarding:
- Discrimination
- Unfair dismissal
- Bullying
- General protections (including adverse action)
- Harassment
- Occupational Health and Safety Compliance
- Contractual issues
Michael also has a special interest and experience in the crisis management of “white collar” crimes, including:
- Copyright infringement
- Cybercrime
- Fraud
- Identity theft
- Tax evasion
- Insider trading
- Money laundering
Michael is skilled in dispute resolution through negotiation, conciliation, mediation, arbitration, and court-based litigation including, where necessary, the Australian Courts of Appeal and the High Court of Australia. He has acted in a number of noteworthy and high-profile cases and has represented clients’ interests in two major judicial inquiries instituted by the NSW Government in 1999 and 2003.
