Employee Experiences:

"Hi, I am Erin. Within my short time at Madison Marcus recruited as an Administrative Assistant I have learnt core company values and strive towards excellence within my positions. Previously I worked as a NDIS support worker however transitioned to an office-based position due to a change in University degrees. Starting as a Madison Marcus receptionist it has provided key knowledge to the smooth running of the firm including stock supply, customer service, arranging meetings, and helped within recognising the different areas of law and how it looks within a future career path."

“I am a second-year student, studying a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Business at UTS. In the initial months of my employment at Madison Marcus, my responsibilities centred around reception relief and fundamental administrative functions. Through the firm’s dedication to professional development, I have gained an array of skills as an Administrative Assistant for the Commercial Litigation team. I aspire to transition to a paralegal role, and eventually a Lawyer, upon my admission in 2028/2029”
Lucy
“Since joining in February 2023 as a Legal Secretary in the Mergers and Acquisition team I have learned the legal admin processes for this area of law allowing me to undertake secretarial duties, such as drafting letters, cost agreements, legal templates, billing, arranging events and relief reception. I love working in my team and have formed personal friendships at the firm, since my arrival to Australia from the UK. During my time here, the firm has allowed me to undertake further studies in Certificate III in Business to expand my knowledge in business and administrative practices. I am constantly shown appreciation for my work, and I am always encouraged to learn and implement new skills.”
Annabelle
“Starting as an intern was incredibly exciting but also quite nerve-wracking. However, each team I rotated in, as well as each person I spoke to --whether that be in the elevator, breakroom or even bathroom -- was extremely friendly, and I immediately felt like I was in an environment where I could grow. Following all the great learning experiences I had from the unique exposure I got to different areas of practice, I am now a paralegal in the team that I enjoyed the most during my internship, and I find great value in being able to contribute to a team and utilise my skillset to make a difference.”
Guarav
“I joined Madison Marcus’s Strata Team in April 2022. Since joining as a Paralegal, I have been given autonomy with paralegal duties such as preparing drafts of statements, undertaking legal research and assisting with representing clients at the NCAT (Tribunal). I enjoy the type of work, the team members and the mentoring they have given me to improve my skills. I’m aspiring to be a lawyer on admission to practice in 2025.”
Jake
“I formally started at Madison Marcus in 2021 as an administrative assistant in the Real Estate and Development/Property Team. Prior to beginning formally, I had the opportunity to do a 6-week internship with the firm in 2020. After a few months I transitioned into a Paralegal role with the team while I continued my Bachelor of Laws degree at Macquarie University which I completed at the end of 2023. I then completed college of law for my professional legal training in May 2024 and am currently working as a Graduate Lawyer until my admission as Lawyer which I am expecting shortly.”
Leo
“I joined Madison Marcus in 2009 as a Legal Secretary. However, over the years my role has evolved. I commenced studying a Bachelor or Law at University of New England and in between work and studies, I am raising my family with two children. During my time at the firm, I have been promoted to senior paralegal working in various areas or law, and recently involved in a criminal law trial. In addition, my roles and duties over the last 15 years have varied involving QMS Audit Lead, Precedents Co-ordinator and Executive Assistant to the Managing Director.”
Alysha
“I joined Madison Marcus in 2003 as a Receptionist while studying a Bachelor of Laws. A career path was created for me over the last 22 years, where I continually worked for the CEO as a Legal Secretary, Paralegal and now a senior legal practitioner. In addition to legal duties, I have been involved with accounting tasks such as Payroll, Trust and HR. During my time at the Firm, I have also been able to raise my family.”
