The Opportunity
We are currently seeking experienced Immigration Law Lawyers (Associates and Senior Lawyers) with 3-5 years’ PQE to join our growing team in Melbourne CBD. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects and complex immigration matters while advancing your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Immigration Lawyer, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert legal advice and representation on immigration law matters, including visas, citizenship, deportation, and asylum.
- Assisting clients in navigating complex immigration processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Preparing and submitting visa applications, petitions, and other immigration-related documents.
- Representing clients in immigration hearings, appeals, and tribunals, ensuring the protection of their legal rights.
- Advising clients on immigration options, such as family, work, student, or investor visas, and helping them understand the best course of action.
- Keeping clients informed about the status of their cases and advising them on potential issues or delays.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in immigration law, policies, and procedures at national and international levels.
- Advocating for clients in high-stakes immigration matters, such as deportation defense or appeals.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent and a current practising certificate.
- 3–5 years’ post-qualified experience (PQE) in immigration law.
- Strong knowledge of immigration policies, visa categories, and legal procedures.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience representing clients in immigration hearings, tribunals, or appeals.
- A client-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
- Ability to stay organized, manage multiple caseloads, and meet tight deadlines.
